Terms of Use
Effective October 17, 2026
Draft โ under legal review before public launch.
These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Ruckwise ("we") for your use of the Ruckwise app, website and services. By creating an account or using Ruckwise, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
What Ruckwise is โ and isn't
Ruckwise is a tool to help you organize, track and plan your money. It provides estimates and general information, such as projected balances, pay and allowance estimates, TSP growth illustrations, and deployment and transition calculators.
Ruckwise does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Estimates may be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and military pay, allowances, tax rules and benefits change. Always confirm important decisions with official sources (such as your Leave and Earnings Statement, DFAS, your finance office, or your installation's Personal Financial Counselor or legal assistance office) or a qualified professional.
Ruckwise is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the U.S. Department of Defense or any branch of the armed forces.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract.
- Give accurate information and keep your password, passcode, and two-step verification codes private. You're responsible for activity under your account.
- Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Bank connections
Bank connections are provided through Plaid Inc. By connecting an account, you authorize Plaid and us to access read-only information from your financial institution as described in our Privacy Policy, and you agree to Plaid's terms. Balances and transactions come from your bank and may be delayed or inaccurate; your bank's records control.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse the service. That includes: accessing accounts or data that aren't yours; attempting to break, probe, or overload our systems (except through responsible disclosure โ see our Security page); reverse-engineering the service to copy it; using it for anything illegal; or using automated tools to access it without permission.
Your data
You own your data. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export it or delete your account at any time.
Changes and availability
We work to keep Ruckwise available and accurate, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance. We may change or discontinue features. If we make material changes to these terms, we'll tell you in the app before they take effect, and continued use means you accept them.
Ending your use
You can stop using Ruckwise and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or put other users or the service at risk; where appropriate we'll explain why.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Ruckwise is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator of Ruckwise will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or opportunities, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the state where the operator of Ruckwise is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act or other laws that can't be waived.
